19 August Shravan Purnima

According to the Hindu calendar, the full moon day in the month of Shravan is known as Shravan Purnima. According to religious belief, holy bath, penance and donations have special importance on this full moon day. Rakshabandhan and Kajari Purnima festival are celebrated on the full moon day of Shravan month, apart from this, there is also a provision to perform Upanayan Sanskar on the auspicious day of Shravan Purnima. Fasting on the day of Shravan Purnima is also of special importance to get rid of any kind of defects created by the moon in the horoscope.

Importance of Shravan Purnima:-

Talking about the importance of Shravan Purnima fast, this fast has special importance in Hindu religion. This fast is also celebrated as the date of marriage of Lord Shiva and Mother Parvati. By worshiping on this day, Lord Shiva fulfills all the wishes of his devotees and also makes the person attain happiness and prosperity in life. Keeping the fast of Shravan Purnima on this Purnima Tithi is especially fruitful. Method of worship of Shravan Purnima:-

The worship of Shravan Purnima is done especially in the evening and night, so at this time you should take special care to worship in the auspicious time.
Get up early in the morning, take a bath and wear clean clothes and then choose a holy place for worship.
After that, collect the worship material for Lord Shiva and Mother Parvati i.e. Bel Patra, lamp, incense sticks, flowers, rice, sweets etc.
After that, start Shravan Purnima by worshiping Ganesha first and then worship Lord Shiva and Mother Parvati.
While worshiping, bathe the Shivling with clean water, then after offering Bel Patra to Lord Shiva, offer incense sticks, flowers, rice etc.
After this, do the Aarti of Lord Shiva and chant the holy mantras of Lord Shiva.
Finally, after completing the worship of Shiva Parvati, distribute Prasad among all the people.

Do perform religious rituals on the day of Shravan Purnima-

On the day of Shravan Purnima, go to the temple of Shiva and worship Lord Shiva and Mother Parvati and also offer water, incense and flowers to them.
Worshiping Lord Vishnu on the day of Shravan Purnima also has special importance, so do worship Lord Vishnu on this day.
Tulsi Vivah on the day of Shravan Purnima also has special importance. On this day, Tulsi Vivah should be done and fruits and flowers etc. should be offered to them with devotion.

Do some surefire remedies on the day of Shravan Purnima –

On the day of Shravan Purnima, be clean and pure and offer water and raw milk on the Shivling, without this the worship of Shravan Purnima is considered incomplete.
On the day of Shravan Purnima, take a bath in the Ganga. By taking a bath in the Ganga and worshipping on this day, the person gets freedom from his sins. If it is not possible to take a bath in the Ganga, then you can take a bath by mixing Ganga water in the bathing water.
On the day of Shravan Purnima, to please Lord Shiva, do chant the Mahamrityunjaya mantra. By chanting the holy mantras of Mahamrityunjaya on this day, the person gets freedom from serious diseases. Therefore, on the day of Shravan Purnima, the Mahamrityunjaya mantra must be chanted 108 times.
The donation and dakshina done on the day of Shravan Purnima has special significance, therefore, donation and dakshina must be done on the day of Shravan Purnima as compared to other days.
