About the Kumbha Sankranti
Although all twelve Sankrantis happening all twelve months of the year are auspicious, it is the eleventh
month of the Hindu Calendar that carries importance for Kumbha Sankranti. People who practice
Sankranti think it is a positive thing to devote for charity. Daniel Punya is performed during the festival
of Holi, as part of the gotra “Ranga” with shuddhi, as well as several other rites and practices in
conjunction with Holi.
Before 16 days of the Sankranti, certain Kumbah (devotees, devotees) and believers (believers) see the
sixteen ghatis (very auspicious) as their holy time which is used for performing (employment,
employment, charity) work related activities.
Cows are granted immense reverence during the period when people worship cows in India. On this day,
many Hindus go on a pilgrimage by bathing in the waters of the Ganges at the confluence of the Ganges,
