Ganga Saptami 2024

Let us know from Astrologer K.M.Sinha that these things should not be thrown in Ganga on this day.

On this day, along with the worship of Mother Ganga, there is also the tradition of taking a bath in the Ganga. During the bath in the Ganga on this day, various things are offered to Mother Ganga, but some things should be avoided from being offered.

Ganga Saptami, observed on the seventh day of the dark fortnight of Vaishakh month, falls on May 14 this year, a Tuesday. Alongside venerating Mother Ganga, it’s customary to bathe in the Ganges on this day. However, there are certain offerings that should be avoided during this sacred bath, as advised by astrologer K.M. Sinha.

Avoid Immersing Ashes: If you plan to bathe in the Ganges on Ganga Saptami, refrain from immersing ashes into the sacred river. Often, relatives of the deceased unknowingly dispose of ashes on this day, which is inauspicious. Ashes should not be immersed in the Ganges on Ganga Saptami.

Refrain from Immersing Impure Metals: When bathing in the Ganges on Ganga Saptami, be cautious not to accidentally leave items like shampoo bottles, soap wrappers, or old clothes in the river. Such acts are considered offerings, inviting disharmony into the household.

Do not Offer Old Worship Materials: After bathing in the Ganges on Ganga Saptami, avoid disposing of old worship materials into the river. Doing so is inappropriate and may incur planetary faults, displeasing Mother Ganga.

If you’re planning to partake in the Ganga Saptami bath, heed this guidance on what not to offer in the Ganges on this auspicious day.
